Bonnie lass, bark sailor on a bark ship cast off, set sail, chase sea tales, befriend whales, scope islands, outwit squalls, and make it home in time to slip back into the slip and sleep, in this delightfully salty tale of a girl, her dog, and a boat.

Steph’s Story
Much like her real-life pup Bonnie Lass, Stephanie Staib is a bundle of energy waiting to be unleashed on the world!
Steph’s greatest joy flows from life on the water with her husband and two children. Her stories are inspired by the beautiful coastal waterways and natural wooded areas that surround their homeport, Milton, Delaware — a 19th-century shipbuilding community, well known for its multi-masted schooners.
Although many tides have come and gone since she was a stay at home mom, Stephanie continues the family tradition of nautical adventure with her canine kids.

Absolutely adorable illustrations that capture a child and devoted dog at play on a boat throughout the day. Imaginary or real? I can’t tell. But I sense that this is a child in a sea-faring town who is familiar with life aboard a ship and hence a playday embarked on an imaginary boat with faithful, seagoing dog as first mate.
